DAY 1 - Grand Welcome to Kigali, Rwanda

Upon arrival at the airport, you’ll be warmly greeted and chauffeured to the deluxe Hotel. The rest of this day is yours to relax and enjoy as you wish.

DAY 2 - Explore Kigali later head to the Virunga Mountains

After breakfast, your guide will introduce you to the capital city at the Kigali Genocide Memorial, you’ll learn about the country’s turbulent history and the tragically violent events of 1994 that claimed the lives of more than 500,000 citizens – mainly ethnic Tutsis. Then experience firsthand the resilience of the Rwandan people as you explore the downtown district. After lunch at the Hotel and little siesta, you’ll depart Kigali and travel northwest through the beautiful terraced hills that characterize much of Rwanda’s landscape. As you climb gradually toward the mighty Virunga Range, you’ll have breathtaking views of the volcano peaks rising high above the verdant countryside. Close to Volcanoes National Park, you’ll check in to the lodge of your choice. The evening is yours to enjoy the ambience and setting of your lodge.

DAY 3 - Gorillas in the Wild

After an early breakfast, we’ll take you to the National Park Headquarters where you’ll register for today’s Gorilla Trek. Enjoy a trek into the national park with a ranger/guide to view a unique and endangered species, the golden monkey. Watch these playful and lively creatures in their natural habitat. Afterwards, visit the Karisoke Research Center, which was founded by Dr. Dian Fossey in 1967. Meet with a resident researcher and enjoy a tour to learn about their ongoing work in the protection of mountain gorillas. Then retracing your steps down the volcano, you’ll be chauffeured back to your Lodge.

DAY 4 - Uganda Wildlife Exploration

After breakfast and check out, cross into Uganda, the rising star of East Africa with its magnificent landscape of steamy forests, admire expansive views arriving in the mid-afternoon at the stunning Queen Elizabeth National Park, commemorating Queen Elizabeth II’s visit to Uganda. Enjoy a late afternoon game drive, followed by dinner at the lodge, relax and meditate for the Uganda incredible experiences ahead in waiting.

DAY 5 - Amazing Queen Elizabeth

Explore the lush Kalinzu Forest Reserve with a ranger on a trek in search of chimpanzees. These unique creatures have an evocative call, a distinct and recognizable sound of the African forest. This afternoon drive in the Park and increase your chances of sighting buffalo, elephants, giant forest hogs, hyenas, leopards, lions, and warthogs.

DAY 6 - Delightful cruise on the Kazinga Channel

Enjoy a morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park, whose diverse ecosystems, including sprawling savanna, shady forests, sparkling lakes and fertile wetlands, making it the crucial habitat for classic big game, primates and over 600 species of birds. Set against the backdrop of the jagged Ruwenzori Mountains, the park’s magnificent vistas encompass dozens of enormous craters carved dramatically into rolling green hills. After lunch, take a delightful cruise on the Kazinga Channel. As the boat drifts slowly along the shore, view a huge population of hippos, crocodiles and colorful birds. This evening, sip drinks before dinner and admire the gorgeous sunset views

DAY 7 - Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast and check out, Travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a biodiverse, mountainous area that is your base for gorilla tracking; arrive in time for a late lunch and leisure time for nature walks. Bwindi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a sanctuary for colobus monkeys, chimpanzees, and many birds such as hornbills and turaco. Undoubtedly it is best known for its 340 Bwindi gorillas, half of the world's population of the critically endangered mountain gorillas. Observing the gorillas may only be done on foot, and only a limited number of viewing permits are issued, which help to protect the endangered gorilla families. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge, a peaceful and exclusive retreat on the shores of Lake Mutanda.

DAY 8 - The Gorilla Trek

After an energizing breakfast, assemble for an informative briefing by experienced rangers before embarking on the exciting culmination of your journey - the gorilla trek. Your group will be guided through the rough terrain of the rainforest in search of one of the park’s habituated gorilla families. The trek will last between 1/2 hour to 7 hours depending on the location of the animals. When a gorilla family is found, you’ll be allowed an hour in their company to watch them eat, preen and play. Imagine the extraordinary feeling of sitting in the dense forest with a few of the last remaining mountain gorillas in the world! You’ll always cherish memories of this profound and incomparable experience.

DAY 9 - Boat Trip on the Nile

An early departure to Murchison Falls National Park, listen to the sounds of the forest as you drive into the depths of this magnificent park. Enjoy the natural surroundings and look for wildlife before returning to the lodge for lunch. Later, a cruise takes you down the Nile River, the longest rivers in the world, to the base of dramatic Murchison Falls where the Victoria Nile River surges through a narrow gap over a massive drop - truly a most impressive sight! Observe hippo and crocodile along the sandbanks, as well as large numbers of different species coming down to drink and bathe. At your Farewell Dinner tonight, share extraordinary tales of your journey in Uganda and bid a fond farewell to your guide and your newfound friends who shared this adventure with you.

DAY 10 - Crossing Equator, Head to Nairobi

After breakfast, head to Entebbe with a stop at the Equator, afterwards, have a pleasant flight to Nairobi, gateway to your thrilling Kenya safari; transfer to your hotel. Ever wanted to try ostrich or crocodile? Enjoy a meal at the famous African buffet restaurant called Carnivores, where meat is served from Masai spears until you can eat no more and raise your flag in surrender! (This can be your welcoming party or a farewell).

DAY 11- Nairobi - Samburu National Park

Depart Nairobi and drive north through the farmlands of the Kikuyu people, passing the shoulder of Africa's second highest mountain, Mt. Kenya, (5199m/17,060ft). En route, stop for a real treat lunch at the Trout Tree Restaurant, built in an enormous fig tree below Mt. Kenya. Continue to the hot and dry low country, Samburu National Reserve. Little visited and utterly unspoiled, a wildlife haven for many species rarely found north of equator. Keep your eye peeled out for “Samburu Special Five”, Namely, Grevy’s Zebra, Beisa Oryx, reticulated giraffe, the Somali Ostrich and the long necked gerenuk all under the sky’s great blue bowl. This evening, set out and watch the colorful African sunset before returning to the lodge on time for dinner.

DAY 12 -Fascinating Samburu

Morning game drive today in the midst of this rugged and beautiful semi-arid desert. Carry on in search of Bohor reedbucks, hartebeests, pythons, puff adders, cobras, buffalos large elephants and big cat populations, if lucky enough, you might see a hunt and kill. The park is also a bird haven with more than 427 recorded species. The lifesaver of this park is Ewaso Nyiro River, Kenya’s biggest and least seasonal river. Along these river banks, the majority of the animals gather for the promise of water. Return to the lodge for leisure time. Tonight, after dinner, an interesting lecture and discussion with a Samburu naturalist, Similar in appearance to the Masai but less known, the Samburu are a proud warrior tribe. Watch traditional Samburu dancing, and learn about Samburu tribal life and customs.

DAY 13 - Epic Viewing in Aberdare National Park

Today, travel southwest to the heart of Aberdare National Park. Arrive at The Ark, one of Kenya's iconic tree lodges. The Ark is designed with layers of decks overlooking a floodlit watering hole and saltlick that attracts a huge amount of wildlife all day and night. The many different balconies and lounges provide superb vantage points for game viewing. A ground level bunker provides excellent photographic opportunities and takes you up-close to the animals; see elephant, buffalo, bushbuck and occasionally a rhino.

DAY 14 - Amazing “Pink” Lake Nakuru National Park

Embark on a safari within Lake Nakuru National Park, enroute to Lake Bogoria and enjoy its rich birdlife, hot geysers and springs. Nakuru, meaning “dusty place” in the Maasai language, the park is best known for its absolutely superb birdlife, with over 450 species recorded - at certain times of year there are over a million flamingos. See the sweeping view from the top of Baboon Rocks, warthogs and waterbucks. This region of Kenya is one of the most dense rhino populations on the continent. Leopards are been sighted in the limbs of shade trees. Afterward, continue to your lodge where you will spend the remainder of the evening at leisure.

DAY 15- Jaw Dropping Masai Mara

Depart for the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve. With its vast open plains and distinctive flat-topped acacia trees, no visit to Kenya would be complete without a visit to this reserve. As you sweep over the vast expanse of the Maasai Mara, you’ll have a chance to look down upon vast herds of grazing animals and packs of predators that roam in the same super-abundance that thrilled Teddy Roosevelt a century ago! Watch elephants and giraffe grazing, photograph zebras and wildebeest, and with a little luck, you'll even spot animals feasting on a recent kill. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for movement and memories.

DAY 16 - Ballooning over Masai Mara

A fabulous sunrise experience! Thrill to adrenaline-pumping safari and participate in the optional hot air balloon. Take off as you view the breathtaking sunrise over the Masai Mara. Drift above the beautiful landscape, watching wild game roam the vast plains below. The finale is a sumptuous champagne breakfast before setting out on your morning game drive. In the afternoon, enjoy your final game drive in the Mara. Return to the lodge, or join the optional visit to a Maasai Village for a glimpse into the lives of this semi-nomadic tribe. Discover how the tribe lives; learn about their customs, ceremonies and rites of passage then join their local dance. Explore the handicraft market before returning to your camp in time for dinner

DAY 17 - Enjoy The Green City

Bid farewell to the Mara and return to Nairobi. In the afternoon, travel towards the Ngong Hills to visit the Karen Blixen Museum, once the farm house of the prominent author of “Out of Africa”. Continue to the Giraffe Centre, where you hand feed the Rothschild giraffes from an elevated feeding platform and learn more about the successful breeding program and extensive conservation efforts. You will then arrive back mid-late afternoon and you have the evening free to relax and reflect on the incredible experiences you have had over the last few days.

DAY 18 - Tour of Stone Town, Visit a Spice Plantation

This morning, enjoy a guided walking tour of Stone Town, famous for its Swahili architecture, a maze of narrow alleyways, ornate wooden doors, and many historical buildings. Then, drive into the picturesque countryside to visit one of the many spice plantations to soak up the heady aromas of vanilla, cloves, cardamom, and myriad of other spices. Clove trees were introduced in Zanzibar in 1818 and formed the main trade for the island, becoming known as the 'gold' of Zanzibar. The island also cultivates pineapples, jackfruits, lemons, limes, durians, and coconuts. Stop for a traditional lunch in a local village before continuing to the east coast
