DAY 1 - Arrival in Nairobi

Arrive in Nairobi, gateway to your thrilling Kenya safari; transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to acclimate to your new time zone and prepare for the African adventure that awaits you. Depending on what time you arrive, ever wanted to try ostrich or crocodile? Enjoy a meal at the famous African buffet restaurant called Carnivores, where meat is served from Masai spears until you can eat no more and raise your flag in surrender! (This can be your welcoming party or a farewell).

DAY 2 - Nairobi-Samburu National Park

Depart Nairobi and drive north through the farmlands of the Kikuyu people, passing the shoulder of Africa's second highest mountain, Mt. Kenya, (5199m/17,060ft). En route, stop for a real treat lunch at the Trout Tree Restaurant, built in an enormous fig tree below Mt. Kenya. Continue to the hot and dry low country, Samburu National Reserve. Little visited and utterly unspoiled, a wildlife haven for many species rarely found north of equator. Keep your eye peeled out for “Samburu Special Five”, Namely, Grevy’s Zebra, Beisa Oryx, reticulated giraffe, the Somali Ostrich and the long necked gerenuk all under the sky’s great blue bowl. This evening, set out and watch the colorful African sunset before returning to the lodge on time for dinner.

DAY 3 - Fascinating Samburu

Morning game drive today in the midst of this rugged and beautiful semi-arid desert. Carry on in search of Bohor reedbucks, hartebeests, pythons, puff adders, cobras, buffalos large elephants and big cat populations, if lucky enough, you might see a hunt and kill. The park is also a bird haven with more than 427 recorded species. The lifesaver of this park is Ewaso Nyiro River, Kenya’s biggest and least seasonal river. Along these river banks, the majority of the animals gather for the promise of water. Return to the lodge for leisure time. Tonight, after dinner, an interesting lecture and discussion with a Samburu naturalist, Similar in appearance to the Masai but less known, the Samburu are a proud warrior tribe. Watch traditional Samburu dancing, and learn about Samburu tribal life and customs.

DAY 4 - Epic Viewing in Aberdare National Park

Today, travel southwest to the heart of Aberdare National Park. Arrive at The Ark, one of Kenya's iconic tree lodges. The Ark is designed with layers of decks overlooking a floodlit watering hole and saltlick that attracts a huge amount of wildlife all day and night. The many different balconies and lounges provide superb vantage points for game viewing. A ground level bunker provides excellent photographic opportunities and takes you up-close to the animals; see elephant, buffalo, bushbuck and occasionally a rhino.

DAY 5 - Amazing “Pink” Lake Nakuru National Park

Embark on a safari within Lake Nakuru National Park, enroute to Lake Bogoria and enjoy its rich birdlife, hot geysers and springs. Nakuru, meaning “dusty place” in the Maasai language, the park is best known for its absolutely superb birdlife, with over 450 species recorded - at certain times of year there are over a million flamingos. See the sweeping view from the top of Baboon Rocks, warthogs and waterbucks. This region of Kenya is one of the most dense rhino populations on the continent. Leopards are been sighted in the limbs of shade trees. Afterward, continue to your lodge where you will spend the remainder of the evening at leisure.

DAY 6 - Jaw Dropping Masai Mara

Depart for the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve. With its vast open plains and distinctive flat-topped acacia trees, no visit to Kenya would be complete without a visit to this reserve. As you sweep over the vast expanse of the Maasai Mara, you’ll have a chance to look down upon vast herds of grazing animals and packs of predators that roam in the same super-abundance that thrilled Teddy Roosevelt a century ago! Watch elephants and giraffe grazing, photograph zebras and wildebeest, and with a little luck, you'll even spot animals feasting on a recent kill. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for movement and memories.

DAY 7 - Ballooning over Masai Mara

A fabulous sunrise experience! Thrill to adrenaline-pumping safari and participate in the optional hot air balloon. Take off as you view the breathtaking sunrise over the Masai Mara. Drift above the beautiful landscape, watching wild game roam the vast plains below. The finale is a sumptuous champagne breakfast before setting out on your morning game drive. In the afternoon, enjoy your final game drive in the Mara. Return to the lodge, or join the optional visit to a Maasai Village for a glimpse into the lives of this semi-nomadic tribe. Discover how the tribe lives; learn about their customs, ceremonies and rites of passage then join their local dance. Explore the handicraft market before returning to your camp in time for dinner

DAY 8 - Enjoy the Green City

Bid farewell to the Mara and return to Nairobi. In the afternoon, travel towards the Ngong Hills to visit the Karen Blixen Museum, once the farm house of the prominent author of “Out of Africa”. Continue to the Giraffe Centre, where you hand feed the Rothschild giraffes from an elevated feeding platform and learn more about the successful breeding program and extensive conservation efforts. You will then arrive back mid-late afternoon and you have the evening free to relax and reflect on the incredible experiences you have had over the last few days.

DAY 9 - Depart Kenya, Arrive in Tanzania

Ready for a little more ink in your passport? Grab your bags and get ready to check another country off your bucket list. You make your way to Arusha. It is here that you will prepare to explore Tanzania taste. Arusha is a busy, bustling town with WI-fi, coffee shops, banks and many other modern amenities. You will stay here for overnight.

DAY 10 - Through the Great Rift Valley

After sumptuous breakfast, kick start your journey across the magnificent Great Rift Valley to Lake Manyara National Park, one of the prettiest and most wildlife-rich parks in the country. Check in to the deluxe Lodge and enjoy a thrilling evening game drive. Be on the lookout for Manyara’s unusual tree-climbing lions that retreat into the branches of the umbrella tree.

DAY 11- Indulge in Baobab Capital of the World

Set out this morning to spot the flocks of flamingos, herons and pelicans that gather on the lakeshore as well as Sykes’ monkeys, olive baboons and bushbuck. Midday finds you gazing across the Tarangire National Park, the “Baobab Capital of the World”. During this time of the year, nearly three thousand elephants are returning to the park to join another 3,500 resident elephants that call Tarangire home year-round. Wildebeest, zebra, gazelles and antelopes are also migrating from the surrounding areas for only water source within 1,600 square miles of protected wildlife area. Birds are equally abundant, with over 550 recorded species. It is truly a favorite place to be for wildlife...and therefore, for humans!

DAY 12 - Onwards to Africa’s Garden of Eden

Set out this morning to spot the playful big cats and if little lucky, you may see a hunt and kill. Midday, Descend almost 2,000 feet to the floor of the crater, find your gazing across the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Africa’s “Garden of Eden”. Stop for a stunning vista overlooking the Ngorongoro Crater, the largest unbroken, unfolded caldera in the world. The vast 300 square kilometers crater stretches out in front of you and it’s not until you spot the barely discernible grey speck of an elephant that you truly grasp its scale. Among the thousands of species in the park, you may encounter zebra, giraffe, buffalo, lion, cheetah, leopard, hippopotamus just a few to name. Each season offers a different highlight. Enjoy a picnic lunch in this astonishing setting before you ascend to the crater rim and return to the lodge. At dinner tonight, celebrate your newfound friends.

DAY 13 - You’ll be First on the Crater Floor!

Encircled by mountains, the open grasslands of Ngorongoro are easy for officials to patrol, resulting in healthy populations of endangered species like black rhino and cheetah. En route to visit the remarkable Olduvai Gorge Museum with its displays of fossils that provide significant evidence of our ancestors almost four million years ago. Tonight at the lodge, dinner together accented by a gorgeous African sunset.

DAY 14 - Into the Serengeti

This morning we drive to the fabled Serengeti, a place that needs no introduction. Unequaled in its natural beauty and undoubtedly the most famous wildlife sanctuary in the world, the vast plains of the Serengeti host Africa’s highest concentration of game. With strategic settings at the Mara River and Ndutu Plains, our luxury camps capture all the spectacle of Africa at its best any time of year. This afternoon, you’ll experience firsthand why the Serengeti has earned its reputation as a safari paradise! Sundowner cocktails and an elegant candle-lit dinner are the perfect ending to the day.

DAY 15- The Amazing Serengeti

The enormous variety of exotic birds, horned bovines, ungulates, wild dogs and big cats that roam the vast expanse of the Serengeti is mindboggling... Continue game viewing as you drive leisurely back to camp. Then, an exciting exploration of Moru Kopjes (weather permitting), the jewel in the Serengeti’s crown, an area of stunning beauty and excellent game viewing all year round. This unique landscape is characterized by rocky cliffs (kopjes) along with boulders and caves that act as canvases for ancient Maasai paintings. . After dinner tonight, listen to the sounds of the wilderness and gaze at the changing colors of the African skies and turn in for a restful night among beautifully decorated and furnished surroundings.

DAY 16 - Another Day on Safari in the Serengeti

DAY 17 - Stone Town, Sunset Dhow Cruise

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel in Stone Town, where you will be introduced to the historic capital of the Zanzibar Archipelago by your local host. The afternoon is at leisure to stroll through the town, named a UNESCO World Heritage Site, or simply rest, relax and enjoy the myriad delights of the hotel, idyllically situated on the seafront. This evening, board a traditional dhow in time to watch the fiery golden sun setting beyond the horizon. Enjoy the peacefulness of the ocean as the dhow silently glides through the water, while savoring a glass of chilled wine.

Clove trees were introduced in Zanzibar in 1818 and formed the main trade for the island, becoming known as the 'gold' of Zanzibar. The island also cultivates pineapples, jackfruits, lemons, limes, durians, and coconuts. Stop for a traditional lunch in a local village before continuing to the east coast
